A Serbian woman walks past newly constructed houses after 19 Serb families return to the village of Berkove in central Kosovo, near the town of Kline, Dec. 03, 2007. The village was largely destroyed in the 1999 conflict, but has been repaired and rebuilt thanks to the support of Municipality of Kline and the international NGO Danish Refugee Council (DRC) with the management of the United Nationas Development Programme (UNDP). Many Serbs fear that independence for Kosovo will mean that they have to leave Kosovo for their own safety, due to tension with the local Kosovo Albanians.
